Team purpose –

 

Oxfam in Tunisia is looking for a Communication and Influencing Officer who will be responsible for developing, mainstreaming, and implementing the communication plans of the projects in Tunisia in line with its overall strategic direction, framework, and potentials.

The Communication and Influencing Officer works under the direct line management of the Media and Communication Lead. She/He will be part of the influencing team to ensure sufficient alignment on steer, approaches, and responsibilities. This position is also expected to work directly with and provide support to all the Program team members as well as the other relevant colleagues across the confederation and with all relevant partners.

 

Job Purpose – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Communication and influencing (80%)

  • Ensure the implementation of effective and relevant communication and influencing strategies following a participative and feminist approach.
  • Ensure harmonization between Program’s branded communication and influencing materials products.
  • Ensure fluent communication via OXFAM’s social media platforms.
  • Support national partners in strengthening their communication and influencing capacities by identifying training, coaching, and learning events and resources.
  • Link program partners with other relevant civil society actors at the national regional and international level to ensure joint efforts and collaboration.
  • Map, identify and coordinate new and innovative partnership opportunities with national actors.
  • Craft compelling communication materials, including reports, briefings, and communication tools, to engage target audiences effectively.

Knowledge and Learning (20%)

  • Support developing and sharing best practices and innovations and other relevant products, conducting regular and ad-hoc information and story gathering to share across Oxfam and externally.
  • Contribute to the design and facilitation of the learning spaces for Program partners and other stakeholders by using a mix of interactive methods.
  • Capture, document and disseminate programmatic learning, success stories and best practices.
  • Promote the program and ensure the linking and learning between Program’s partners, and beyond, with and through Oxfam international, with other relevant actors.
  • Support the design and implementation of the Program regional learning agenda.

 

Other (where and as agreed and needed)

 

  • Actively engage in all relevant strategic meetings and workshops to contribute to developing and implementing Oxfam strategy and programs.
  • Provide support, where and as requested and possible, to other ongoing programs and activities and develop new programs and proposals.
  • Contribute to all country-related annual planning, reporting, and budgeting.

Technical skills, experience and knowledge required for the position. 

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields (examples: communication, journalism), or an equivalent sufficient experience and alternative type of education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant job responsibilities and work experience especially in fighting inequalities, promoting gender justice and Human rights.
  • Good understanding of Tunisia and regional; social, economic, and political context.
  • Fluency in Arabic and French, English is an asset.
  • Commitment to transparency, openness, and collaborative way of working.
  • High level of integrity and activist attitude.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Readiness and ability to travel to different regions to support partner and programs.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Excellent and efficient time management.

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge of Oxfam work.
  • Remote management of activities and partners.
  • Lived experience as a part of one or more of the rightsholder groups.
