The SAFE Unit within Oxfam Novib’s Programs Department develops and co-implements (humanitarian, development and influencing) programs in the areas of Promoting Safe and Resilient Communities and Supporting People on the Move. The Unit is responsible for upholding and promoting Oxfam’s humanitarian mandate through program and proposal development, resource mobilization, advocacy, and campaigns in the Netherlands. In the fiscal year 2023/2024, Oxfam reached more than 12 million crisis-affected people in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.

This internship will support the SAFE Unit in mapping Oxfam and partners’ policy positions on topics including the root causes of conflict, peacebuilding, and the triple humanitarian, development, and peace nexus. The intern will work closely together with colleagues focused on migration and human mobility as well as with colleagues with expertise on conflict, climate and fragility. The insights will inform the SAFE Unit’s future policy and advocacy positions, aligned with Oxfam’s multi-annual strategy.
