Oxfam Novib is recruiting interns for various units, each working on critical issues such as peacebuilding, resilience, advocacy, and community empowerment. Below are the internship opportunities available across our teams.

1. Engagement Department - Journey Mapping
The engagement unit focuses on engaging, mobilizing and creating awareness within the Dutch society. As an intern, you’ll map out our journeys. How do supporters interact with our organization through channels such as; email, telemarketing, field marketing, social media, direct mail, and web. Using behavioral and engagement data, you’ll identify where in the journey the supporter experience can be improved and propose both quick wins and high-impact optimizations, with a focus on digital communication.
Key Tasks:
🗺️ Map and structure communication flows across various supporter journeys
📉 Analyze behavioral and engagement data to identify drop-off points and opportunities
💡 Develop and present a list of improvement ideas, from small optimizations to larger projects
🤝 Collaborate with channel managers and cross-functional teams to co-create solutions
🧩 Optionally take a coordinating role in a dedicated supporter journey project team
Who Are We Looking For?
🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Communication, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, or related fields
📊 Analytical and data-savvy, with a strong interest in behavior and communication flows

2. Communication & Digital Engagement Unit - Social Media

🎯 Taken op het gebied van merkbeheer
📢 Het beheren en verspreiden van communicatiematerialen die onze merkidentiteit versterken
📦 Coördinatie van merkgerelateerde merchandise, inclusief voorraadbeheer
🎉 Ondersteunen bij de organisatie van merkversterkende evenementen en (interne) merkactivaties in campagnes
🔍 Signaleren van kansen voor merkversterking binnen (interne) communicatiekanalen
💡 Meewerken aan content ideeën op social media om ons merk te versterken

📣 Meedenken over creatieve wervingsstrategieën voor online supporters
📱 Opzetten, beheren en optimaliseren van social media advertenties (Meta, Google)
🎨 Bedenken en ontwerpen van ad creatives voor diverse platforms
🧭 Bijdragen aan customer journeys
📢 Meewerken aan digitale campagnes rond thema’s als klimaatverandering en sociaal-economische ongelijkheid

Internship Eligibility Criteria
Applicants to the internships at Oxfam Novib must meet the following requirements:
Be a student of 18 years or older
Be enrolled at a Dutch educational institution (first level university degree, higher schools (HBO) or other) for the whole duration of the internship
Have the legal right to live and work in The Netherlands or be prepared to obtain the right to follow an internship as part of their study in the Dutch educational institution. A three-partite internship agreement (between Oxfam Novib, the educational institution and the student) will be signed to that effect
Have less than 3 years of relevant full-time work experience
Not having been in employment with Oxfam Novib previously
Please note: this internship is formulated as work experience to develop an understanding of career objectives. It is not meant to be a thesis internship.
Our offer
An intern in Oxfam Novib is offered an internship contract for the duration of the internship and a monthly allowance based on €450,- per month on a basis of a 36-hour work week, pro-rata in case of less hours.
The intern is expected to have a student OV card; however, if this is not the case, a reimbursement of commuting costs will be offered.
Oxfam Novib has a hybrid working policy: partly from office, partly from home. Interns are expected to be on-site in our office in The Hague at least two days a week, with remote work flexibility.
During the internship, the intern is supervised. The period of the internships takes place between September 2025 and February 2026 (approximately a period of 5 months).
