The welcoming team consists of 3 HR Support Officers, 1 HR Officer Business Process, 2 HR Business Partners, 1 Talent & Resourcing Specialist, 1 Wellbeing and Engagement Specialist, 1 Compensation & Benefits Specialist and 1 Corporate Recruiter. Together, they report to the HR, People and Culture Manager.

Key tasks
As an intern you:
- Provide support in HRPC administration while gaining hands-on experience with HR systems and processes.
- Support the organization and facilitation of induction week sessions for new employees.
- Assist in promoting and coordinating the employee wellbeing survey.
- Contribute to the improvement and updating of onboarding materials and documentation.
- Support the revision and update of the parental leave information pamphlet.
- Help improve the first-day onboarding experience, including collaboration and alignment with other departments.
By the end of the internship, you will be able to effectively support HRPC administration tasks, gain hands-on experience in organizing and executing employee engagement initiatives and assist with the onboarding process, and recruitment activities.
Who are we looking for?
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- You have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- You have excellent written & spoken English skills. Dutch is not required but is a big advantage.
- You have a healthy dose of humor and can put things into perspective.
- You are able to think and act analytically and independently, and creatively to address problems.
- You demonstrate the ability to multi-task and be agile.
- You have strong cultural sensitivity and gender awareness.
- You can work independently and as part of the team.
- You are available for at least ± 20 weeks (this internship starts on September 1st, 2026) 24-36 hours per week.
When can you do an internship with us?
For this internship, we are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
You are 18 years or older and enrolled throughout the entire internship period at a Dutch educational institution (HBO or university level). You have the legal right to live and work in the Netherlands, or you can obtain this through your study programme (via a three-party internship agreement). In addition, you have less than 3 years of relevant full-time work experience and have not previously been employed by Oxfam Novib.
Please note: this internship is intended as work experience and career orientation and is not suitable as a graduation internship.
Our offer
You will receive an internship agreement and a monthly allowance of €450 based on a 36-hour work week (pro rata for fewer hours). The minimum number of working hours is 24 per week.
We offer a hybrid working model: at least two days per week at our office in The Hague and the rest from home. Travel costs are reimbursed if you do not have a student public transport card.
The internship runs from September 2026 until the end of January 2027 (approximately 5 months); an earlier start date is not possible. Supervision and guidance will be provided throughout the internship. Our preference is to use the UNL internship agreement, if this is accepted by your educational institution.
