The FAIR Financial Systems and Investments Unit co-implements (influencing) programs addressing extreme inequality and climate change driven by todays’ growth-focused economic system. It focuses on a fair tax system and public spending, responsible investments & entrepreneurship beyond growth and new economy thinking.

The unit's different teams (Fair Finance, Public Finance, Inequality & New Economy and Impact Investment) all aim to contribute to this shift towards an alternative economic system. More information about the unit’s different workstreams can be found here, here and here, and on our website!

Key Tasks:
📚 Assist in research and writing for thematic papers
📝 Create content for communications materials such as newsletters, blog posts, webpages, social media, infographics, and case studies
📅 Be involved in overall project management cycles, including project administration, drafting input for fundraising, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation when needed
🔍 Contribute to ongoing research and advocacy efforts related to fair taxation, inclusive & responsible business models, impact investment, and climate finance
📢 Share research findings and insights through presentations, workshops, articles, or other tools
🤝 Support with community engagement and related activities
📆 Assist with supporting and preparing meetings/events (offline and online)

Who Are We Looking For?

🚀 A highly motivated, result-oriented team player with a positive and proactive attitude
🌍 Interest in the fields of fair taxation and beyond growth/new economy thinking
💬Strong English language skills; additional language skills in Dutch and French are an asset
📋 Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

When can you do an internship with us?
For this internship, we are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
You are 18 years or older and enrolled throughout the entire internship period at a Dutch educational institution (HBO or university level). You have the legal right to live and work in the Netherlands, or you can obtain this through your study programme (via a three-party internship agreement). In addition, you have less than 3 years of relevant full-time work experience and have not previously been employed by Oxfam Novib.

Please note: this internship is intended as work experience and career orientation and is not suitable as a graduation internship.

Our offer
You will receive an internship agreement and a monthly allowance of €450 based on a 36-hour work week (pro rata for fewer hours). The minimum number of working hours is 24 per week.

We offer a hybrid working model: at least two days per week at our office in The Hague and the rest from home. Travel costs are reimbursed if you do not have a student public transport card.

The internship runs from September 2026 until the end of January 2027 (approximately 5 months); an earlier start date is not possible. Supervision and guidance will be provided throughout the internship. Our preference is to use the UNL internship agreement, if this is accepted by your educational institution.
