Build the digital Backbone for Impact

Your role
As a Data Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening Oxfam Novib’s digital backbone. You will design and maintain the data flows and integrations that connect our core business systems such as ERP, program management platform, HR system, data lake, data warehouse and reporting tools.
Your work will ensure that data flows securely, reliably, and efficiently across the organizations supporting financial accountability, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
This role is central to Oxfam Novib’s digital transformation, ERP implementation, and data platform development, helping to replace fragmented integrations and manual data processes with scalable, governed solutions.
What you will do?
- Build Integration Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations using Azure Fabric or similar technologies.
- Connect Core Systems: Implement and maintain integrations between ERP, finance, HR, program system, and reporting platform.
- Strengthen Data Architecture: Support the development of a structured data platform and integration layer that enables reliable data exchange and reporting.
- Improve Data Quality: Implement validation, monitoring, and transformation processes to ensure reliable and consistent data across systems.
- Support ERP Implementation: Contribute to data migration, integration design, and validation processes as part of the ERP transformation program.
- Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Provide structured and scalable data pipelines that support dashboards, reporting, and analytics.
- Replace Fragmented Integrations: Consolidate ad-hoc and point-to-point integrations into governed and standardized integration patterns.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and reporting teams to ensure data solutions meet organizational needs.
- Ensure Security and Compliance: Apply secure data transfer, encryption, and access control standards in collaboration with Information Security teams.
Your team
You’ll be joining the newly formed data team within the ICT Unit. As part of the Finance and Operations Department, we ensure smooth operations that help Oxfam Novib achieve its impact goals and meet regulatory requirements. You’ll report to the Manager of ICT and work closely with IT colleagues, internal staff, and external stakeholders across various projects. Who are we looking for?
You are a technically skilled and collaborative professional who enjoys building reliable data integrations and enabling data-driven decision-making. You are comfortable working in a complex IT landscape and translating organizational data needs into scalable technical solutions.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3– 4 years of experience in data engineering, system integration, or ETL development
- Experience with Azure Fabric, Data Factory or similar ETL/integration tools
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling and data pipelines
- Experience working with APIs, structured data formats (JSON/XML), and cloud data platforms
- Knowledge of data lake, data lake house, data warehouse, and modern data platforms
- A structured and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Professional proficiency in English (Dutch is an advantage)

- Oxfam Novib is committed to offer you a motivating work environment at our offices in The Hague. We offer a one-year contract from start (including a 1-month trial period), with the possibility to extend.
- Oxfam Novib offers an attractive and honest benefits package, including a year-end allowance and yearly pay increase from the Collective Labor Agreement. Moreover, we offer complementary options to choose from. The salary range for this position is set in scale 9 with a salary range between €3.447,- and €5.183,- gross depending on experience, based on 36 hours a week.
- We are currently working hybrid (50% in the office in The Hague and 50% at home).
