Creative Communications & Event Production Internship - Supporting a Just Agricultural Transition

Date:  6 Nov 2026

The GREEN Unit at Oxfam Novib develops and implements programmes that advance climate justice and strengthen climate resilience. Through partnerships with civil society organisations, grassroots movements, and activists worldwide, the unit works to challenge the inequalities driving the climate crisis and support communities and movements in building a more just and sustainable future.

The FAIR Unit is Oxfam Novib's economic justice and value-chain team, working to make global trade, agriculture, and business practices fairer, more accountable, and more sustainable.

This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communications and event production, working across both units.

A key focus will be supporting the organization of a public event on how to develop and accelerate a Just Agricultural Transition in the Netherlands/Europe, that is rooted in agricultural biodiversity (agrobiodiversity), to take place in April/May 2027. The organization of the public event will be in collaboration with identified allies and partners.

In addition, we intend to jointly seek funding opportunities for a program on transforming NL/EU food systems towards agroecology (taking agrobiodiversity, or seed-diversity based food system as a departure point). We’ll convene with identified partners to brainstorm and develop a joint narrative/pitch that will form the basis for these fundraising efforts. The intern will be closely involved in the elaboration of this programme development.

Finally, in the context of the NPL funded ‘Ban the Boomerang’ project, a project that aims to end the export of highly hazardous pesticides in the EU, we build a narrative around the alternatives to the use of pesticides - such as agroecological practices - to support the Just Agriculture Transition. The intern will support the development of a ‘Just Agriculture Transition Toolkit’ to use in the countries where the project is being executed (The Netherlands, South Africa and Brazil), as well as Bangladesh, Zambia, Uganda and Peru.
