JOB PURPOSE: This position will contribute towards achieving the Gender Justice Programme through leading on the implementation of the assigned Gender Justice Projects in OPT. The role involves supporting aspects of program development and contributing to resource mobilization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Technical, management, Resource management)

Projects management

  • Iimplementing, and monitoring of the assigned gender justice projects in line with the approved project proposals, budgets, and action plans.
  • Work in collaboration with partners to deliver high quality interventions for the assigned projects.
  • Provide and facilitate technical support to partner organizations including capacity sharing and facilitate and/or arrange for external technical support if required.
  • Follow up with partners on activities implementation under the projects and hold regular follow up meetings.
  • Prepare and ensure that narrative and financial reporting and other donor requirements are met, in line with donor agreements, Oxfam policies, and routing procedures as advised by the Institutional Funding staff.  
  • Undertake/ commission research or analysis to underpin programming and advocacy priorities on gender Justice related areas.
  • Initiate and facilitate knowledge & information management activities and exchange with partners to strengthen the effectiveness and implementation of the projects-based lessons learned.
  • Assist in preparing relevant communication material including presentations, success stories, cases studies, fact sheets, photo archive, and relevant material to support in the dissemination of key information about the project to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings and field visits at the country level with project partners and related stakeholders.
  • Support to develop partnerships either through identify potential partners and stakeholders, establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential partners to build a network of supportive organizations and individuals.
  • Support on other work-related priorities and projects under the gender justice program.
  • Be aware of and respond to sensitivities of operating within the national/regional context.
  • Represent the Gender Justice Program in relevant clusters and working groups.

 

Contribute to the development and resourcing of Oxfam Gender Justice program in OPT

  • Engage in gender justice program strategizing and development.
  • Support in developing compelling and impactful ideas, concept notes and contribute to preparing submissions to donors while ensuring full coordination with the Gender Justice team, Institutional Funding team, partner organizations and other relevant stakeholders.

In addition:

  • Academic degree in development studies, social sciences, law or related field, specialization in gender and Women’s studies.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the field of development & humanitarian cooperation preferably with an I/NGO in similar contexts.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in development and management Gender Justice programmes/projects.
  • Knowledge of the context in OPT, more specifically civil society context.
  • Solid understanding of gender concepts and latest developments in Gender Justice policy and practice and proven experience in using different gender analysis frameworks and tools.
  • Experience in organisational analysis & partnership with local civil society organizations, grant management, program development and monitoring, evaluation and learning to support the program development.
  • Strong witing skills with the ability to develop proposals and reports.
  • Proven experience with donor contract management, coordination and reporting structures/processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities.
  • Strategic vision and analytical capacity within the gender justice programme.
  • Experience in gender mainstreaming and accountability of gender in emergencies
  • Ability to influence and liaise effectively with key stakeholders and represent in high profile environments.
  • Competent to work with significant levels of autonomy and authority.
  • Ability to manage complex workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent social skills and demonstrated ability to be a team player.
