Oxfam Novib Somalia is looking for a Programme Assistant - Intern

 

Duty station: Mogadishu with frequent field travel 

Type of appointment: Internship - Oxfam Encourages Peaple with Disability

Contract duration: 6 months with possibility of extension

Work schedule: Full-time

Reports to: Area Manager

Start date: As soon as possible

OXFAM PURPOSE: To work with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Environment scanning using selected internet media – including social media to track humanitarian and development related news and updates.
  • Prepare daily summary of environment scanning and share with the team.
  • Assist Managers to prepare weekly/monthly situation updates. 
  • Reading and familiarizing yourself with assigned projects related documents – including proposals, work plans, log-frames, report etc. for best of your knowledge.
  • Specific humanitarian and resilience program support related tasks will be developed once the candidate is onboarded.

 

Skills and Competences:

  • Diploma or degree in communication, information management, project management or any other relevant discipline in project management.
  • Self-starter organized and attention to details.
  • Effective communicator and interpersonal skill.
  • Intermediate level of Reading, Writing and Speaking skill in English and Somali languages and good understanding of cultural practices
  • Intermediate user of Windows Operating system, MS Office, and Internet Applications and popular social media platforms. 
  • Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies and experience of promoting gender equity and diversity and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfam’s work.
